History of Bianco’s Audiotronic
Thank you for visiting our website…under the banner of the Bianco’s Group of Companies, my partner, Mike Rowlandson and myself own Bianco’s Audiotronic (an electronics store on the Kingsway in Greater Sudbury) and 6 Bianco’s Movie Super Centres (video stores located throughout the Greater Sudbury region.)
I originally started the company in 1975 as, Kelly’s Stereo Mart, which was only 875 square feet and literally located on the sidewalk in downtown Sudbury. By 1979, Kelly’s was changed to Bianco’s Audio & Video and a second store added in the New Sudbury shopping centre. By 1981, additional stores were opened in Elliot Lake and in the Sudbury area under the name Bianco’s National Video. By 1986, I formed a partnership with Mike Rowlandson, our ex-TD Bank accountant manager who also had moved on in the early eighties to open his own two National Video franchise stores in North Bay.
Why Bianco’s Audiotronic continues to be.. “Sudbury’s favourite Audio/Video/Car Stereo and Video Rental Stores” stores!!
The two main reasons we are the company we are today is #1.. the management team that Mike and I have that include Rick Austin who became General Manager of all video operations also in 1986 and Elaine Ranger who has been Office Comptroller since 1981…. and #2 is the experience and ability of our entire sales, rental and installation team that when combined together, total over 200 years of retail experience in audio, video and car stereo sales and rentals.
Mike and I urge you to read some of the biographies of our management and sales team . We are very proud of the fact they are part of our Bianco’s family and of their experience in the industry, so that they can answer almost any question you may have and help you with your home and car entertainment needs. With our award winning reputation for service, we guarantee we will always do everything in our power to earn your loyalty and continued support.
In order to always keep Bianco’s selection and pricing equal to if not better then any of the competition, we chose to be part of the Audiotronics Group in 2001. That is why we are today Bianco’s Audiotronic. The Audiotronic Group is a collection of the country’s top independent electronics’ retailers across the country, with its head office in Montreal. We have banded together as a franchise buying group in order to buy at the lowest prices possible from the world’s top suppliers like Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, LG and Yamaha.
In our Movie rental division, we are part of the national group of Movie Experts which allows us to continually expand our knowledge of the video rental business in Canada. We are very proud of the fact we are one of the oldest and most respected video rental businesses in Canada. We are the only chain in Northern Ontario that is completely Canadian owned and founded here in Sudbury.
Customer Service:
Everyone from the management team and sales reps down to the part-time staff understands the value of good customer service. It is one of the fundamental elements of Bianco’s success today. And one of the best ways to promote this customer service is by maintaining managers and staff which customers can get to know and learn to trust. The average Bianco’s Audiotronic and Movie Super Center, manager and sales representative has been with us for 18 years and each have built up a tremendous loyal following. We thank them for being totally committed to taking care of our customers and being the most knowledgeable experts that they can be. Our managers in the video stores are some of the best in the industry and their dedicated service and fantastic knowledge of the movie industry is one of the primary reasons our customers keep coming back to us.
Because of the partnerships that we have developed with our suppliers, they continually send their sales representatives and marketing people to our store on a regular basis to train our people in the latest and newest technology all the time. Therefore, over the years with so many hundreds of hours spent on education, we know that now and in the future with all the rapid changes in our industry, our managers and sales professionals are the best anywhere in explaining everything so that we can best fit your needs.

Larry Murphy brings over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry. Starting at the young age of 17 for Peter in the early days of the Kelly operation, Larry has seen many innovations and change in the industry from the turntable to the compact disc and the walkman to the iPod, Tube TV to Plasma & LCD technologies and audio from 2 channel stereo to Dolby Digital DTS home theatre. Larry’s ability to recognize and understand his customer’s needs over the last three decades has allowed him to build a large and varied network of repeat clients. Dave Van Der Zyl has been an electronics sales professional since 1992, giving him 15 years of quality customer service. Dave has been a member of the Bianco’s team for 5 years and is the manager of Bianco’s 12 volt car audio department. Having wide spread expertise in all aspects of consumer electronics, Dave is able to cater to all of his customers needs, present and future, giving them expert advice and support pre and post sale.
John Myers has twenty years as an electronic sales professional, eight of which has been with Bianco’s. He is fully knowledgeable in all areas of the store but does specialize in home audio and is the head of our home audio department.
