Well I replaced my Frigidaire radiant halogen cooktop with this Frigidaire Professional unit. It looks great, but I cannot say it cooks that much faster than the radiant unit if at all, but it does cook at least as fast. I will say control is superior due to the direct heating of the cookware versus transferred heat from radiant._x000D_ _x000D_ The benefits of not getting hot are less useful because it does get hot from the cookware. I do not see anything that can be done about that, however, it does cool down faster._x000D_ _x000D_ One big warning: The Professional line does not have the same overall dimensions or cutouts as the standard or Gallery line so be warned that the "It Fits" guarantee does not apply. I was able to order a trim kit from a 3rd party however and that solved the issue.

This cooktop is faster than other types and more efficient. It boils 2 quarts of water in a couple of minutes and does not heat up the kitchen. It is also hard to misuse (my wife has Alzheimer’s & I worried about the gas unit we had).

I bought this a few weeks ago after my old glass top ceramic element range kicked. It is *so* nice to have induction instead. Water boils almost instantly, and stops on a dime. Cooking is so much easier without the carry-over heat. _x000D_ _x000D_ It's attractive and extremely easy to clean. _x000D_ _x000D_ Only minor complaint: I'd prefer the knobs on the side rather than in front.

Love this induction cooktop, especially the knobs. I've had other induction cooktops and did not like the alternative controls. These are terrific. Induction is the way to go.

I wish we'd chosen a different cook top. I don't like the knobs; they make it difficult to clean - you can't just wipe the cook top clean. Also, you turn on the wrong burner, but don't have a pot on it, it just blinks forever. Our other induction cook top would turn off if you turned on the wrong hob. It was a poor design choice for an induction cook top and a poor decision on our part. Pros: I like the layout of the burners/hobs and it's induction. Our fault for choosing poorly. I hope it lasts, but if I money grew on trees, I'd replace it now.

Can not recommend. Half of the burners failed a couple of. Months after installation. Both frigidaire oven and cooktop failed after very little use. Quality is suspect at best.

Just four years into ownership of one of these, ours malfunctioned with error code C016. It beeps when it does it and it has awakened us up in the middle of the night. As it is not under warranty anymore we had it checked and they said they need to replace the control board. That is an over $800 USD repair! so now we're forced to consider a full replacement.

I recently installed and started using this cooktop, my first induction one. It is a pleasure to use: easy controls, fast response and faster cooking. I am very happy with it!

We purchased this Frigidaire 30 inch cooktop after looking at many different models. We liked the control knobs on this cooktop as opposed to the touch controls since some touch controls are finicky and required multiple steps to adjust temperatures. Looking through the cooktop manual, I discovered that the elements had both minimum and maximum pot size restrictions. The restriction which concerned me the most was that the main (large right front) element had a minimum pot size of 9 1/16 inches. After checking the size of all our pots and pans, I determined that none of them had a base over 9 inches and would not work on this cooktop. Even our large stock pot which we use only occasionally was too small for this element. Now I could go out and purchase an extra large pot which would work on this element but it would be of a size which is much too large for our requirements as we normally cook for two people. Since this minimum pot size seemed so restrictive, I called Frigidaire to determine if this was correct and they confirmed it to be correct. I find it strange that the Frigidaire brochures show a wok on the main element. The wok in the brochure looks very similar to my wok which has a 7 inch base and will not work on this element. I have looked extensively and I cannot find a wok with a base even close to 9 inches. After determining that the main element on this cooktop was essentially useless because we seldom use extra large pots, we decided to return it. We are extremely disappointed since we were looking forward to cooking with induction.
